About Me

Specializing in the use of cognitive-behavioral therapy with anxiety disorders, I have over forty years of experience as a therapist. I do my best to meet every client with compassion and respect. I consider myself to be a practical therapist, keeping therapy brief whenever possible.

After earning an undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania, I went to graduate school at the University of Georgia. My training includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Psychodrama, Guided Imagery, couples therapy, and family therapy.

My first professional job was at the University of Florida Medical School, where I helped
people cope with chronic pain and medical problems. When my sister was diagnosed
with Multiple Sclerosis, I learned what I could about the disease. I now work with people
coping with MS and other chronic illnesses.

My primary interest is in obsessive-compulsive disorder, and I am still learning,
participating in a peer supervision group for therapists who treat OCD. I also see many
clients presenting other anxiety disorders, including Panic Disorder, Phobias, and Post-
Traumatic Stress Disorder. Like other therapists, I also see people with Depression and
relationship problems.
